Our Adult Visual Art Programs offer many ways for adults to revive and nurture their creative spirit. All skill levels welcome! Adult classes and workshops are open to students age 16 and above.

Introduction to Screen-printing
DATE:January 4-February 1
TIME: Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
INSTRUCTOR: Rachelle Branum
COST: $50 + $30 materials fee
Come and learn this contemporary form of image transfer. Whether you are interested in covering your walls with new artwork, adorning your wardrobe with uniquely designed clothing, or mass-producing your original images in a variety of places, screen-printing is a useful, fun, artistic skill that is not only popular, but also easy and immediate. We will teach you a variety of ways to transfer image onto various surfaces. Bring your creativity, and we will supply the rest.

Jewelry Design
DATE: February 8-March 22
TIME: Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
INSTRUCTOR: Karen and Vicki Berland, Lindsey Harman, and Rachelle Branum
COST: Cost: $60 + $40 materials fee
During this six-week class you will have the opportunity to learn about the tools needed and various materials available to create your own unique jewelry. We have gathered a group of talented local jewelry artists who will teach you various technical skills such as stringing, finding application, wire wrapping, stitching and more. Each class will feature a different technique and you will walk away with new design ideas (and jewelry) to keep you working all week on your new artistic passion. No previous experience necessary, so dive in!

Life Drawing
DATE: February 18-April 1 (no class March 11)
TIME: Thrusdays 6:30-8:30pm
INSTRUCTOR: Ben Moore
LOCATION: Luther College CFA, Room 203
COST: $60 + $30 materials fee
This class is for beginning to advanced students who want to sharpen their abilities to see and draw through an artist’s perspective. Working from live models will allow you to improve and perfect your drawing skills of the human figure while exploring various drawing materials including pencil, charcoal, pastel, and ink.

Watercolor Painting
DATE: April 12-May 17
TIME: Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
INSTRUCTOR: Tom Sheppard
COST: $60 + $30 materials fee
The area in which we live is rich in color and natural beauty, perfect inspiration for painting. Whether you have taken a painting class before or not, Tom will work with you to further your understanding of the properties of watercolor painting and how to use the materials to their full potential. Whether you are inspired by traditional landscapes, still life interiors, or abstract shapes and patterns, you will walk away from this class with an enhanced knowledge of the medium and a desire to keep painting!

Birth Art and Belly Casting
DATE: May 20
TIME: 6:30-9:30pm
INSTRUCTOR: Lindsey Harman
COST: $40 per couple
Join local birth enthusiast, Lindsey Harman, for an evening of exploring how the creation of birth art can enhance your pregnancy journey. You've heard of "Belly Casting," but what is it exactly and how is it done? Here's your chance to create your own belly cast to remember this special time in your lives. You will also leave with birth images that you create on your own or with your partner that will provide insight and focal points to support you during your labor. Please bring a towel and an old t-shirt that you don't mind cutting.
