BAKER LONDON PRESENTS: Dewi Sant
DATE: September 16
TIME: Friday 8pm
COST: $5
LOCATION: ArtHaus Studio Courtyard
Dewi Sant, the latest project from Minnesota songwriter Michael Morris, moves
from delicate folk to raucous alt. country to concise pop to sprawling waltzes. A
rotating cast of regular collaborators (which has included members from projects
as diverse as Cloud Cult, Portland Cello Project, Gospel Gossip, and Romantica)
define the band both on stage and in the studio. Dewi Sant's
debut, May, has been called "a remarkably assured and focused
collection, sounding more like the work of an artist hitting
mid-career stride than a full-length debut. With the ethos of
Brother Ali beating in his heart and the sweeping folk-rock
songwriting of Fleet Foxes in his hands, Morris's future looks
bright." (City Pages).
"Baker London Presents" was created to support and promote
emerging artists and provide a venue for live music in Decorah. Founded in honor
of Baker London's alter ego, Trevor Grimm, "Baker London Presents" aims to
ensure his legacy will live on through this series of concerts at ArtHaus. BYOB ok.
